Sill Flashings

Smooth Sill Flashings

Smooth Sill Flashings are used to provide a water protection option over the sill areas inside the walls. We recommend using these as an extra measure of protection, since this serves to support one of the most vulnerable areas inside the wall.

Z Form Sill Flashings

Z Form Sill Flashings are applied first up against the bottom of the window sill and over the fin extending beyond the sides of the window jamb fin and side flashing at least 2 inches. A Z Form Sill Flashing is a flashing installed in a flush manner with top of the rough opening sill.

Sill Flashings prevent water penetration at vulnerable places, such as windows. Even with the installation of a moisture barrier over sheathing, degradation of the moisture barrier in any of these assemblies will occur over time depending on the amount of window leakage, climate, and the overall makeup of the wall assembly. Sill Flashings combat this problem and effectively prevent degradation of the barrier.

A Sill Flashing is revolutionary in its application. Although metal flashings are not usually thought of as an engineered component of a wall assembly, the idea of engineering the wall metal to perform up to a minimum specification that exceeded the water penetration resistance performance of the window was one of the principal design parameters in the development of masonry wall Sill Flashings.

Sill Flashing B has a 1/2 inch drop kick in the front, extends straight across, and then comes up at a 90 degree angle and then returns on a 90 degree angle.

A Sill Flashing B is a great way to create a flush installation at a very vulnerable point to prevent water penetration into the window.

Sill Flashing C has a 90 degree face, comes across the back on a 90 degree angle, with a 45 degree kick on top.

A Sill Flashing C is an excellent way to avoid moisture and water from creeping in through the window.

Sill Flashings are responsible for repairing the predominant form of window leakage into wood frame wall cavities. One of the main sources of water intrusion into the wall cavity is window leakage.

A Sill Flashing is a flashing that prevents the penetrability of the wall cavity. They are responsible for maintaining the structural integrity around cavities such as windows or other openings in the structure. Our Z-form provides a 3-way mechanical bond with its sawtooth like pattern. In fact, the local AIA (American Institute of Architects) chapter led a task force that gathered statistics on the sources of water intrusion and found that roughly 2/3 of the windows surveyed leaked into the wall cavity. Sill flashings provide a solution to this leakage and water penetration into the structure.

Z Form Sill Flashing B is an unmalleable ready to install style, moving crosswise, up, and then ending at a 90 degree end. This design ensures that no water will leak through and into the structure. Our z form flashings provide a sawtooth pattern that provides a 3-way mechanical bond.

B is applied first up against the bottom of the window sill and over the fin extending beyond the sides of the window jamb fin and side flashing at least 2 inches. This ingenious flashing creates an attitude barrier, denying the right of entry to any trespassing water.

Z Form Sill Flashing C starts off with a 90 degree face, comes back with a 90 degree bend, and also maintains a 45 degree kick on the top.

A Z Form Sill Flashing C is designed to end any potential water threats at the very vulnerable sill joints. The z forms provide a 3-way mechanical bond within the wall.
