Step Flashings

Step Flashings are an application method used where a vertical surface intersects with a sloping roof plane.

A Step Flashing can be located along a roof slope against a wall or chimney using succeeding courses of flashing material placed in conjunction with layers or courses of roofing materials. A Step Flashing generally appears in 4x4x8 inch segments.

A Custom Step Flashing is a flashing along a roof slope against a wall or chimney using succeeding courses of flashing material placed in conjunction with layers or courses of roofing materials. Step Flashings are generally in 4 by 4 by 8 inch pieces.

Standard Step Flashing

Step Flashings are used to seal roofing materials into a sloped roof. Such materials include: shingles, slate or tile. We can customize any style step flashing to your material and design specifications. However, we offer standard sizes that are already fabricated for your convenience. When using a step flashing it is critical to know the size of your roofing materials. This is imperative in order to make the lengths long enough so as not to make them vulnerable to leaking if the overlap is not correctly calculated.

A Step Flashing is applied where the roof connects to the wall, making sure the drainage plane behind the siding to divert water from the wall and into the gutter.
