Architectural History...The Arch Pediment is an architectural gem. With its roots in classical Greek, renaissance, and neo-classical architecture, this piece has come into favor in many traditional-styled homes and parlor rooms. In classical architecture, pediments were particularly prevalent above certain church doors and on large standing wall monuments, a wide but low structure manipulated to decorate the top portion of the component. Since, pediments have come into popular favor for homes and more scaled down applications.
