Flat Roof Ventilation for proper Roof Maintenance
Roof Vents are weather-tight penetrations through the roof. They allow for ventilation into the insulated area of outside air, promoting circulation of stale air to the exterior and movement of fresh air to the inside. Roof vents are most commonly manufactured in galvanized steel but are also available in copper and stainless steel.
In order to optimize the life span of the roof system ventilation is a must. Lack of proper ventilation will cause the roof system to prematurely fail. It will also trap moisture between the ceiling and the underside of the roof sheathing: resulting in deterioration of the building products (roof rafters, underside of the roof sheathing, the ceiling and all other related building components).
