B&B Sheet Metal specializes in the fabrication of all kinds of flashings, such as:

Base flashings

represent the portion of the installation that is attached to the roof itself. It is "L-shaped" with one leg extended underneath the roofing material at least six inches but preferably more than that. The other leg extends up the abutting vertical surface in a perpendicular manner. In slate, tile, or asphalt shingle roofs, the base flashing may be woven into the courses of the roof sheathing; thus creating a more effective watertight joint.

Counter flashings

are attached to the point of intersection between the roof and a wall (or a projection). This type of flashing must overlap the base flashing by at least 6 inches, if not more; thereby preventing water from seeping through this very vulnerable joint.

Base and counter flashings should be installed independent of one another to allow for optimum movement. The joints should be tightly installed but still independent.

2 Piece Counter Flashings 2 Piece Counter Flashings are designed to allow for installation of each piece at different stages.

Apron Flashings Apron Flashings are located at the low end of a curb or penetration. This type of flashing makes a water tight junction, basically forming a right angle which starts up behind the cladding, comes down and out and over the roof. In the case of shingles, it comes out in between shingles.

Base Flashings Base Flashings are the portion of a flashing attached to or resting on the deck to direct the flow of water onto the roof covering.

Ledge Flashings Ledge Flashings are eponymic for their essential function: covering a ledge. Who would've thought?!

Reglet Counter Flashings Reglet Flashings are grinded into the reglet using a handheld grinder. Although this is a dusty and messy process, once it is complete, the flashing looks like a through wall flashing. This extra step is done solely to improve the appearance and does not offer any additional functional benefits.

Step Flashings Step Flashings are an application method used where a vertical surface intersects with a sloping roof plane.

Surface Mounted Counter Flashings Surface Mounted Counter Flashings rely on a bead of sealant at the top horizontal edge. Its sections overlap with ease for continuous counter flashing of wall terminated roofing.
